Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here! I invite you to kick your shoes off and peruse my little home on the web after I introduce myself. I am a native Houstonian, born and raised here (as well as Sugar Land/Katy), and a former University of Houston Cougar. I LOVE my city and all that it has to offer. The diversity, cuisine, and warm weather can’t be beat. I still enjoy travel, and though we may not have mountains or beaches quite on par with the Bahamas… I still discover so many wonderful, often unassuming places to shoot around town both in and outdoors.
So now that you know a little about my roots… you might be wondering just how I got started in this industry. I picked up my first DSLR camera in high school and have not been able to put one down since, but thankfully my equipment has been upgraded! I started off taking self portrait concept shoots until I was ready to shoot friends, family, models, and eventually brides. My time taking self portraits gave me a learned sense of innovation, styling, theme, mood setting, and the ability to be creative using a very small amount of space with limited props to create art. I had to think outside of the box in regards to lighting – sometimes holding a work light in one hand, prop in the other, and my wireless remote ready to trigger.
When I’m not behind my camera making women feel beautiful, you’ll most likely find me with my amazing ten year old son. He’s one of the most interesting kids you’ll ever meet, and has even been an amazing assistant to me. He has helped me on test shoots or with families I’ve worked with before that need a smile machine for their children. I love to sing, and have been known to pick songs from the Little Mermaid while singing karaoke. I may never make it to Broadway, but a girl can dream! I also daydream about food, fashion, fitness and traveling. Starting a fitness or fashion blog would be so much fun, it’s definitely on my bucket list. My eye for styling a session and attention to detail play a large role in the final product of my photos. You can see some of my published work (including a shoot I both styled and shot featured in the well known publication “Style Me Pretty”). I can’t wait to answer any questions you have, plan something both amazing and beautiful, and look forward to working with you soon!
“It is part of the photographer’s job to see more intensely than most people do. He must have and keep in him something of the receptiveness of the child who looks at the world for the first time or of the traveler who enters a strange country.”
